These people have fallen a long from their days of wonder. Now huddled into but a handful of fortified cities about the globe, Humanity is facing a desperate time. They have fought and struggled their way back from the nomadic groups who remained almost permanently on the run from the elven raiders, to having managed to rebuild and fortify a number of cities. Re-establishing small farms and starting to rebuild their lives. Yet even now their way of life is tenuous at most. Within the cities Noble family struggles against Noble family to gain political power, commoners play each other to win favours, and the ever present shadow of attack reigns over the people’s daily lives. Yet somehow the cities grow, Last Haven is the greatest of the remaining cities and it is here that most survivors can be found. They range in skills and jobs from humble barkeeps and bards through to the glorious knights and the king himself. It is their spirit to survive, to beat the odds and to reclaim that which was lost that drives them on. They know that until the last city falls they are not defeated, and they plan to make sure that never happens.
