These are the half-breeds of the Humans and Elves, usually the result of a woman who was caught and raped by an elven raiding party. These folk are in most ways to be pitied for their lives. Most humans view them with suspicion and fear, the belief that the child of such a mating is an abomination or worse. Many Half-elves never make it past their birth, being killed by their mother’s family, those that do are more than likely to be expelled or exiled, living the life of an orphan and outcast. Very few half-elves can make their way up in the society of Last Haven. Most half-elves are found in the slum areas, or in the wastelands that surround the village. They often become traders, travelling between the fortified human cities and scourging about the deserts for lost technology to sell to those brave enough to purchase it. They are rumoured to even travel into the elven cities and many are suspected of being spies and agents for the enemy. All of this makes the life of a Half-elf very hard, and often very short.
